Record fundraising total at charity golf day

Logic Wealth Planning, George at golf day fundraiser

Helping local organisations is part of life at Logic Wealth Planning. We are delighted to achieve a record fundraising total for Springhill Hospice at our annual charity golf day.

The event took place at Rossendale Golf Club in the heart of the Lancashire countryside. Company staff, clients and friends made fourteen teams of players.

Logic Wealth Planning’s fourth annual golf day supports the work done by the dedicated team at Springhill Hospice in Rochdale.

The hospice is a 16-bedded purpose-built facility offering specialist palliative care to patients and their families. Amazingly, it costs around £3m each year to run all of the hospice’s services.

Golf fees, raffles and auctions

Logic Wealth Planning raises money from golf team fees, a raffle and an auction. Ultimately, the total raised topped £5,000.

Sportsmen like Chris Schofield (cricket) and Ronnie Whelan (football) supported our event.

Phil Bradbury, from Intersect UK, had the Logic staff looking very smart in bespoke T-shirts. Moreover, he provided the individual Winner’s Trophy, plus some stunning raffle prizes.

A special mention goes to Paul Thomas who donated a stay for two at the luxury La Manga Holiday Resort in Spain. It includes entry into the Caudwell Children’s Celebrity Golf Classic in September. Alan Gayle, from Quantum, won the fabulous prize with a bid of £650 in the auction.

However, an unusual item for the auction was a five-foot mascot from M&W Freight. Some of their staff helped to organise the golf day. Of course, “Buddy” made a wonderful surprise for the winning bidder’s children.

Also, thanks to Paul Barton at PB Fitness for kindly donating an 8-week online fitness, coaching and nutrition course.

Finally, Barclays Bank’s £1000 donation boosted the overall total. Of course, Gift Aid will also add to the final figure.

A growing golf event

Yianni Theodorou, Logic Wealth Planning’s Managing Director, is delighted to see the event go from strength to strength.

He said: “The day was a massive success for us and the Hospice. Despite the awful weather, everyone enjoyed themselves. Amazingly, we exceeded our fundraising target once again.

“Rossendale Golf Club once again did us proud in the evening. It’s great service, comfortable facilities and excellent food.

“Our staff visit Springhill Hospice and understand what it takes to keep this facility running. We are delighted to help in any way we can.
