In June, we featured investor client, iron-man and fundraiser Chris Forde. One of our long-term clients and just back from competition in Denmark, Logic Wealth Planning is delighted to sponsor Chris as he next prepares to jet off to Australia’s Gold Coast…

For Chris, pushing himself to the physical limits has come about for a number of reasons. Always a keen sportsman, he also had relatives who had life changing conditions – in particular a sister & brother with kidney problems. That encouraged him to train hard to help raise funds and give something back to society.

Last month, Chris competed at the Fynske Bank Multisport World Championships Festival in Denmark. There were five world championships and a host of other events. These included Duathlon, Aqua Bike, Cross Triathlon and Long Distance Triathlon.

Age groups ranged from beginners to elite athletes and seasoned veterans. Everyone was invited to gather for a week of celebrating sport, happiness and exercise across three city locations – Middelfart, Svendborg and Odense.

Chris competed in the FYN Sprint Duathlon (men, aged 55-59) and, drum roll… he came 17th. His time was 1:11:59 in a field of over forty athletes. The main image shows Chris running across the finish line. A huge well done from all of us, and great to see the Logic Wealth Planning logo on his new running gear.

Man on a mission

What baffles everyone at the Logic Wealth Planning office is quite how Chris manages his busy working life with competitions and qualifiers throughout the UK, and increasingly across the globe?

He told us: “It is something of a juggling act with the planning, travelling and hotels whilst still training. Working and fitting in my personal software/electronics projects etc is never easy.

“I think I am putting together a lot of content for the book my colleagues and friends keep telling me to write when I get the time.”

We look forward to his life story!

Ain’t no stopping him now!

And in September, he’s at it again! There really is no stopping someone as driven as Chris. He’s qualified for the Gold Coast Triathlon in Queensland, Australia. You can check out more HERE. We’ll bring you full details when we have news and photos from the event next month.

It doesn’t stop there. We’re not sure if there’s a Dracula undertone, but Chris has also qualified for the ETU Sprint Duathlon championships.  They take place in Transylvania in June next year (details HERE).

That will take Chris to eight championship appearances. He has a personal target of competing in ten. So he also hopes to qualify for ETU & ITU Standard distance triathlon events in 2019.

Helping our clients achieve the right work-life balance is what we do. Chris, it seems, is managing to pack an amazing amount into his ‘leisure’ time. We are delighted to see him doing so well, and look forward to supporting his financial planning needs and hectic race schedule well into the future.
