Growing the company, recognising the staff

Getting the balance right in business is essential to any company’s success. Logic Wealth Planning has enjoyed continuous growth, and making sure the valued staff are recognised is just as important.

Three years ago we moved to our spacious modern current office. Yes, current, as we’d outgrown our earlier office and you should always aim high and seek to progress.

The builders have already opened up a new mezzanine level, giving us the kind of space we need to welcome clients, enjoy break-out areas for the staff, and to be able to store office supplies comfortably and safely.

As a growing financial services company with a growing team of advisers and administrators we needed more space. Business was good because everyone within the company worked hard, always going that extra mile – to use a cliché.

Getting the right results doesn’t happen overnight. Long hours, often weekends and always keeping an eye out for potential clients has all contributed to our excellent performance and the great feedback we get from our clients.

When we’re doing well for our customers, it makes the day-to-day working life very enjoyable.

At Logic Wealth Planning we like to go further. Expanding the premises, introducing new technology to ensure we stay not only competitive but ahead of the game, and upgrading the office fixtures and fittings is only part of the story.

Investing in people

We know that investing in people is a major element in any organisation’s success. We have regular personal development reviews – and we act upon them. All staff have attended courses, seminars, webinars or presentations to increase their skills and knowledge and make their working lives easier.

We also invest in additional qualifications, such as first aid certificates so that we always have people in place to offer well-being and healthcare advice, and act in case of emergency.

For this month’s office anniversary (it’s 3 years since we moved to Heywood) we thought we should do something special. They say an army marches on its stomach, so our MD, Yianni, got on the phone to a local takeaway.

We always take a lunch hour at Logic Wealth Planning, time for everyone to get away from computer screens and the telephones. It’s an opportunity to relax, kick back, unwind a little, recharge the batteries and have a chat about things other than finances and investments.

Everyone loves pizza

This year, with a bit more room to host such events, we made time to meet together for lunch and enjoy some delicious Pizzas from our local Dominos in Heywood – all funded by the company.

It was a treat, and a gesture that makes such a difference. We hope that it makes people feel valued and special because they really are a special team.

Of course it’s always great to have a highlight when you’re celebrating together. The office shares a collective love of golf – and we mean almost everyone! Those who don’t play have an interest.

So, it was great to hear Yianni stand up and announce that later this Summer, the office will close (just for one day) to allow all members of staff to a get over to Rossendale Golf Club to enjoy an afternoon game of 18 holes.

After the round, there will be a slap-up meal and drinks at the clubhouse for everyone to enjoy together. More of that another time.

The little things make such a difference to morale. There are smiles around the office and a spring in people’s step. It wonderful to see. It’s how businesses should be run, because the positivity then flows to the customers. Win/win all round.
