Every business needs great people, and the financial services profession relies on skilled advisers and administrators who communicate and work well together. Logic Wealth Planning is lucky to have a growing team of talented people, with new arrivals who have shared recent commercial experiences.
Getting the right mix of personnel is an ongoing challenge, no matter what industry you operate in. Where financial services is concerned, how you treat customers and deal with their investments and retirement plans is important. It has to be spot on. To do that, the team needs to work as one.
Logic Wealth Planning is delighted to introduce the latest recruits to the business who will help to take us forward in 2019 and beyond. As well as being experienced in a variety of financial disciplines, they recently worked together at the same firm.
Welcome to Nicole and James
For Nicole, an opportunity presented itself immediately after sixth form. She said: “I started working at a financial services company in Haslingden when I was 18. There, I began as a Junior and that allowed me to see a lot of the processes involved across the various office functions.
“I also completed my NVQ in Business and Administration. That helped me appreciate that there were a lot of options available to progress in the industry.
A chance to advance her career saw Nicole seize an opportunity in Bury in early 2017. She added: “I really learnt a lot more about pensions there, as previously I had concentrated more on mortgages and loans.
“Unfortunately, the company were then bought out in October 2018 and relocated to Edgeworth. This move was a bit further than I could comfortably travel. So when I saw that Logic Wealth Planning was recruiting, I jumped at the chance. I moved here in January of 2019.
“What I really enjoy is the variety. My main responsibility is dealing with and updating financial registers.
“I also deal with the advisers’ administration requests, and that always keeps us busy. This includes new applications, crystallisation events, letters of authority and so on…”
A double signing
The switch to Heywood wasn’t limited to Nicole. A colleague at her previous place of employment had similar concerns about travel when relocation was discussed. He, too, decided to look closer to home.
James enjoyed a very different career path, but like Nicole was excited when further opportunities arose at Logic Wealth Planning.
“My first ‘proper’ job was at Halifax PLC on the customer counters. It covered a variety of general financial topics. I then moved onto some counter supervisory deputising.
“Ten years at Friends Provident followed until they closed down their operations in Manchester. I was made redundant and, ironically, I found a job working for Jobcentre Plus as an adviser. It was only a temporary position, and I got back into financial services working with a couple of investment companies.
New chapter with Logic Wealth planning
“The most recent role saw me team up with Nicole. She was great to work with, so when there was a choice to relocate or join Logic Wealth Planning as she did, it was an easy decision.
“After working on the other side of the fence from advisers for most of my working life, I finally took the plunge in December – and I don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner.
“At Logic Wealth Planning I prepare annual reports, suitability reports, and generally support the advisers in any way that helps the business. This could be arranging drawdown payments to researching the market for protection products.
“It’s an exciting and challenging time for the industry. I look forward to being part of it with a progressive firm.”
Everyone at Logic Wealth Planning is delighted to welcome Nicole and James to the team. We wish them every success in the future and hope to see them flourish at our busy and growing office in Heywood.
